Mid-Ohio Alternative Animal & Bird Sale

March 21 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 pm

The Mid Ohio Alternative Animal and Bird Sale is held 3 times a year. Animals range anywhere from domestic to exotic with over 200 different species being offered for sale. The auction is governed by USDA officials and all animals and birds must meet requirements in compliance with the Ohio Wildlife Laws and the Dept of Animal Industry of Ohio. All out of state animals must have an entry permit and Health Certificates. This information can be obtained from your local veterinarian or the Dept of Animal Industry in Ohio 614-728-6220.

All animals being sold in this sale are for Agricultural Purposes unless noted in Sale Ring. 

Wednesday, March 20 – 12:00 Noon till 8 PM – Unloading for Peafowl, Pheasants and Exotic Waterfowl – birds selling Thursday Only.

All other animals for the sale can begin unloading Thursday – March 21st    @ 7:00 AM.


Selling Order:  Thursdays animals are all be sold for Agricultural Purposes.

March 21 – Thursday – 8:00 AM – Peafowl will begin selling in main ring

11:00 AM – Pheasants, Exotic Waterfowl & all Quail will be selling in the Dean Beachy Arena.



Admission:  $5.00 per day


Notice:  We no longer accept Guinea Pigs and all species of Rabbits.  We are sorry, but due to USDA restrictions, we cannot meet their requirements at this sale. 

 Mid Ohio Alternative Animal Cage Requirements:

  1. All Cages must have live animals stickers or signs on side and top.
  2. All Cages must have a solid bottom, escape hatch & handles to lift cages
  3. All cages must have food and water inside each cage.
  4. All cages must have enough space for the animals to move around according to the industry standards for such animal.
  5. All cages must have sufficient bedding and according to the species inside the cage.
  6. All cages requiring USDA License must have buffers on sides (pvc pipe works well)
  7. Basically, all cages must meet or be above USDA requirements to enter the sale.

Please, if you are bringing animals in cages to the sale, follow these guidelines to make unloading easier and smoother.
